Silver Medalist at the Loudoun Wine Awards!
With grapes sourced from multiple vineyards across the county, the 2019 Ascent is a true representation of Loudoun grape growing. Layered textures, dominant of red fruit (redcurrant, medicinal cherry) with darker brambly blackberry undertones and soft, yet lingering, tannins. Notes of dried herbs (lavender), coffee bean, and a hint of vanilla. Though drinking well now, this red blend will continue to develop nuanced flavors over the next 6-8 months or longer.
49% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 13% Petit Verdot. 100% Loudoun County, Virginia.
Pairs well with coffee-rubbed steak, Shepherd’s Pie, crispy Duck, grilled lamb.
