Always a fun project that begins with a Cabernet Sauvignon base aged in a combination of freshly emptied bourbon barrels and neutral oak wine barrels. The 2022 Bourbon Barrel Cab Sauv has been aged in Four Roses, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniels barrels for 12 months and has been lightly blended with small amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. 

Earthy with slight notes of bourbon, cherries, dried fruit and a hint of vanilla that give way to a soft, medium bodied wine with a hint of baker’s chocolate on the finish.  Bourbon aromatics are more integrated instead of upfront, lending to a richer mid-pallet and slight warmth of alcohol. Easy drinking and balanced, pairs well with food, a fireplace or on its own.

Allow the wine to warm slightly to release more of the bourbon notes.
