Our Bordeaux/Meritage-style blend. With grapes sourced from multiple vineyards across western Loudoun County, the 2020 Ascent is a true representation of Loudoun grape growing. Much cooler and wetter than 2019, the 2020 saw us hanging fruit in the vineyard, trying to achieve our ripening goals, until the very end of October.

Layered textures, dominant of red fruit (redcurrant, medicinal cherry) with darker brambly blackberry undertones and soft, yet lingering, tannins.  Merlot base rounded with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.  Notes of dried herbs (lavender), coffee bean, and a hint of vanilla.

Pairs well with coffee-rubbed steak, Shepherd’s Pie, crispy Duck, grilled lamb, french onion soup
