Audley Farm Dinner

For over 250 years, Audley Farm has been a part of American History. The most well-known of Audley’s residents was Eleanor “Nellie” Custis Lewis, the adopted daughter of George and granddaughter of Martha Washington. Her historic residence, Audley House, has been completely restored, and is now the centerpiece of Audley Farm.
Vista Club Members are invited to enjoy an evening at this historic property to celebrate the release of our first Norton Port. In a cocktail party-style setting, heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served by the Butcher Station, along with a wide selection of Bluemont Vineyard wines.

2016 Chambourcin

This Chambourcin was sourced from both Loudoun and Fauquier counties with the Petit Verdot coming from a single vineyard in Loudoun County. Notes of blueberry, jammy, higher acidity, subtle tannins, with a hint of smoke on the finish. Fruit forward, everyday drinking wine! Petit Verdot was blended with the Chambourcin to provide additional structure and tannins. Pair this wine with pizza, summer mixed grill vegetables, & portobello mushroom.

2016 Chardonnay

Dry with an austere minerality and steely acidity. This chardonnay was sourced from vineyards in Loudoun and Fauquier counties and harvested in late september 2016. Hand picked, machine destemmed and lightly pressed, this chardonnay began it’s slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks but allowed to finish in neutral french oak barrels. A small amount of petit manseng was added to round out the finish. Notes of apple peel & asian pear with a subtle graham cracker finish and zippy acidity. Pair this tasty wine with oysters, creamy pasta, & hard cheeses.

2016 Merlot "The Ram"

Barely surviving the destructive golf ball sized hail storms that hit our vineyards on June 17, 2016, our Merlot recovered enough to give us an easy drinking, medium bodied Merlot with wonderfully bright fruitiness. Amazing considering the loss of vineyard canopy and over 40% of our fruit! This wine has a delicious flavor profile with hints of cocoa nib and raspberry.

100% Loudoun county Merlot sourced from Bluemont (95%) and our neighboring O1V Vineyard (5%). Notes of red fruit, red currant jelly, and cherry pie. Medium tannins with a lingering acidity. Suggested to be paired with lamb kabobs, smoked gouda, & roast chicken with thyme.

2016 Petit Manseng

Our 2016 Petit Manseng has a slightly sweeter nose of honey, with a flavor profile of ripe pear and lingering acidity. This wine has 1.5% residual sugar and was fermented in a stainless steel tank. A touch of Viognier was added for aromatics. It pairs well with squash, root vegetables, poultry and pork!

2017 Rose "The Donkey"

This refreshing, off-dry Rose is made using handpicked Chambourcin grapes from the Amber Creek (Leesburg) and Haverty (Aldie) vineyards coupled with a splash of Albarino grapes grown on our Bluemont Estate Vineyard. Whole cluster pressed and slowly fermented in stainless steel at 55-60 degrees to retain maximum aromatics and freshness. Fruit forward notes of strawberry and cranberry intertwine with hints of lemon grass and a delicate acidity to create a perfect springtime pairing. Easy drinking with friends, sun and lite fare. There’s nothing stubborn about this Donkey!
